KSTO Workshops!

Hello theatre students! Theatre classes are canceled tomorrow for our Kansas State Theatre Organization (KSTO) annual high school workshop. If you don’t what that is…we invite over 200 high school thespians to explore our theatre program and to attend the final dress rehearsal (matinee) of Into the Woods!

If you have already agreed to help, the schedule is:

9:00-9:50am: Fosse Dance and Movement (Jay), Stage Movement, Drama Therapy (Emily), Sound (Sterling, Daniel), Board Stretching (George, Scene Shop), Vocal Expressions (Jen)

9:55-10:40am: Fosse Dance and Movement (Jay), Stage Movement, Playwriting (Blake), Dramaturgy/Script Analysis (Hunter), Lighting (Jesse/Kirsten), Directing (Aubrey, Peighton, Trace)

10:45-11:30am: Makeup (Drew), Improv (Brett, Olivia), Shakespeare Performance (Shiana, Brigid), Stage Management (Kirby), Season Planning (Ben), Auditions (Clay, Gage)

We still need volunteers to help guide high schoolers around our campus, starting at 8am! If you want to help, registration is at 8am and the workshops end at 11:30. Please come when you can you can get an excuse letter for missing classes from Jennifer Vellenga, (vellenga@ksu.edu). She will also have some printed to hand out during the day tomorrow.

One final thing: if you can, please wear purple, a KSTO or K-state theatre shirt so that you are identifiable. If you don’t have one, one can be given to you for the day.
