KCACTF News and DEADLINES

Congratulations to Mallory Diekmann & Clay Massingill on their Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Nominations for their roles in Eurydice!

The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) 2016 is in Minneapolis/St. Paul January 17-23, 2016. If you attend, you will be excused from Theatre classes for the first week and you will be given an excuse letter for general ed classes.

If you would like to attend, you should apply for the Student Research Travel Award through the College of Arts & Sciences by November 15, 2015.  Any student who would like to attend is eligible, with or without an Irene Ryan nomination. Apply for the travel award HERE.

What could you do at KCACTF? KCACTF Region 5 Events:

Directing Events – The Directing webpage is now live.  Region 5 offers many ways for students and faculty to be involved in directing events, including direction of a prepared scene for the SDC even, direction of a 10 Minute Play Concert Reading by students with faculty mentors, a two day directing intensive for students of all experience levels, and new this year – a Faculty Directing workshop series!  Most deadlines for directing event submissions are December 7.  Don’t miss out!  Go here to view all Directing event information.

Theatre Management Intensive – Students interested in Theatre Management and Arts Administration can sign up to participate in the Theatre Management Intensive!  Go here for more details and to sign up to participate.  Deadline for completion of the Pre-Submission form is December 18.

Dramaturgy – Calling all Dramaturgs for the Region 5 Dramaturgy event.  Participants can enter realized OR non-realized dramaturgy projects.  Go here for more details and to sign up to participate.  The entry deadline is December 11.

Reminder: 10 Minute Plays and One Act Play submissions are due November 1, 2015. Go here for all Region 5 Playwriting (NPP) information.

Reminder: David Mark Cohen National Playwriting Award Eligibility – ANY full length play or musical about any subject matter premiered or premiering in 2015 written by faculty, students, or guest artists entered as a Participating or Associate KCACTF entry is eligible for the David Mark Cohen Award. Please visit the National KCACTF website here for more details and information.
