aha! Manhattan Internship Position

By September 17, 2014October 4th, 2014Internships

Interested in pursuing this internship for spring? In order to get your internship proposal approved by a department’s curriculum committee, the paperwork needs to be submitted in early October. Please contact Deborah Murray, aha! community committee, at debom@ksu.edu at your earliest convenience.

  • Design new aha! website (collaborating and consulting with members of the aha! website and the aha! community committees)
  • Collaborate with aha! community committee on creating new content for the website (for example, video clips, features showcasing member groups, etc.)
  • Develop social media (building visibility of current facebook page); considering twitter and other options.
  • Attend monthly aha! community committee meetings during the time of the internship. (Time to be determined, but generally 11:30 a.m. on a mid-month Wednesday)
  • Attend monthly aha! meetings during the time of the internship. (depending on intern’s class schedule, this last item is negotiable.)

Depending on the intern’s academic discipline, the intern would be supervised by a member of one of aha! Manhattan’s member groups. In addition to communicating weekly with the assigned aha! supervisor, the intern would be expected to respond to emails from other members of the aha! committee. This internship could include several hours a week of work, and we could formalize this number of hours (as well as the number of credit hours for the internship) once an individual candidate is identified. If more than one potential candidate is identified, interviews will be conducted to determine the most suitable candidate for this internship. The best intern would be committed to non-profit organizations, specifically those representing those in the arts and humanities.
