Actors Needed for March 7 Workshop

By February 13, 2017Jobs

[From Jen V: getting experience as a standardized patient is extremely valuable for actors.  Actors all over the world participate in this kind of paid work.  Looks good on your resume and you’re helping with important training for healthcare providers]

The University of Washington and Kearny County Hospital are hosting a communication workshop for healthcare providers on March 7 in Lakin, KS. Workshop attendees will practice communication skills with actors playing patients or family members and clinicians. We are looking for actors to play the following parts:

  1. Patient (female between the ages of 30-65)
  2. Clinician (any age/gender)
  3. Patient’s family member (any age/gender)
  4. Resident (any age/gender)

Experience as a standardized patient is preferred but not required. Actors will be compensated for time and travel and will receive training prior to the workshop. If you are interested or want more information, please email Paulina Osinska at osinsp@uw.edu.
